Food for Thought...Fuel for Reflection

I think, often, we don't even realize all the memories we are missing trying to get to the next moment, the next achievement. When we don't take the time to connect with the moment, they all run together in a blurr. The blurr turns into a blink and pretty soon you're looking around saying...it's 2025?!? My kids are how old?? I graduated that long ago?! I'm sure we've all had these moments in our own ways.
So we are left with the quesiton, what really impacted you enough in all the blurrs to create enough space to pause and freeze the frame long enough to make a memory? Like taking a picture, making a memory requires holding still, focused, steady awareness.
Maybe you take a breath and noticed the smell in the air, maybe you closed your eyes to really soak in the feeling of the sun on your face. All while gathering with family on a summer night and later on that becomes a precious memory you reflect back to and it brings with it the enjoyment you captured that day.
What if we took more of these moments, more often, to not only truly live awake to our own lives, but also to have more memories of enjoyment running through our minds??
